There is a SERVICE BULLETIN (id = 08-018) from Acura (April 19, 2008).. Standing "Transmission Grinds when shifting into 3rd Gear, Pops Out of 3rd Gear, or Is Hard to Shift Into 3rd Gear" It effects the cars list above..Do any of you experience this kind of problem?? because I do.. There is a "design flaw" or a knew problem to it.. That Acura won't tell you unless you ASK them.. I guess they are trying to keep it "HUSH"... NOW, that my warrant run out (2nd owner), what can do??

I have an 03 RSX-S 6 speed and it does not have a problem with 3rd gear, it has a problem with 2nd gear. I have read the service bulletin related to my car and have had the shop check it out and of course it is "normal". It has the same symptoms as yours except in 2nd gear. I have noticed that it does not grind or pop-out of gear within certain rpms.

my 3rd gear popped out at least twice a day. try changing the transmission fluid. ACDelco synchromesh worked wonders for me. others have been happy with green label honda MTF and GM synchromesh. after i changed my tranny fluid, 3rd gear pops out about once every 2 months. if that doesn't work, then start saving up for new synchros.

it only happened from 2003-2006 it was a KNOWN problem and it should have been fixed by the FIRST owner...if it wasn't, then you're stuck...Acura fixed the problem in all the cars that were taken in by the owners.

well i bought my acura rdx slightly used in 08 and it had a problem it was a recall, but reguardless of the miles on the car if its recall they will fix it for free its the law thay have to no matter how many mines are on it or how many owners it has had

I have an 02 RSX and have had no problems shifting into or out of 3rd gear.
