Default noobish Acura TL performance question...

Hi, I have an AT 2004 Acura TL and i was wondering what is the easiest way to gain anywhere from 50 - 100 HP without having to spend over $1,000. In other words, what is the cheapest way to get more HP??? thanks....

All new parts? That much gain? Plus labor?...hard, very hard.. There are options but they'd eat the majority of your money on purchase alone.

-ECU Upgrade/Chip + Tuning
-Full Exaust (From the block all the way out to the back, no/less restrictive cat) + Cold Air Intake and a Throttle Body Bore
-MSD Ignition Box + Coil Packs+Wires + Iridium Plugs + Tuning (Breaking awful close to a grand on this one but it's a definite gain in sequence with an ECU/CHIP upgrade

^^^^These are relatively inexpensive, yet effective means of taking a TL's power up effectively without sacrificing the cars overall reliability. Some are more expensive then others, NONE of them garuntee more then 50 hp or EVEN 50 Hp, but What you don't get in HP you'd definitely get in torque, which would increase in strides from many of these upgrades. Either way you're gonna have to do some skill full shopping, parts selection and if do it yourself isn't an option..a cheap mechanic.

If you REALLY 100 horses, and it's an absolute need for it NOW. You could use 500 of that to find an either NEW, or low mileage Turbo kit, KIT! (Good luck on that..make sure it doesn't have any shaft play), The other 5 use toward tuning and that ECU/CHIP upgrade. Nothing crazy, you could AT LEAST see 10lbs of boost safely on those internals IF infact you get it tuned and properly programmed and pretty much LOCK IN your 100hp goal and then some.

I have a question though...Is your TL an automatic? If so like..

Why at all? Save up another 1000 and get yourself a 93 Body Civic with a B16 Swap and go from there, let the TL be a TL.

Red face Re: noobish Acura TL performance question...

My cousin also has a 2004 Acura TL but I was wondering how to either raise the delimiter or disable it so that he could exceed 150 MPH. tried helping him to look for a reprogrammable ecu and connector for pc but hard to locate anything for the TL. Any help would be most appreciated.
