Im just wondering because a buddy of mine is thinking about doing this and I didnt think itd be easy to swap the stock engine out and tranny for an rsx one.

it could be done, but this is by no means an easy swap. this would call for a nice fat wallet.the k- & b- engines are not at all related & you'd still have to figure out how to mate this drive train to the wheels. nothing between these vehicles simply interchanges. i'd consider using a b- from a late model integra or civic si- not as "exotic", but simple, functional, & fun. the late model b- has been done to death, but i suggest it assuming you want good, upgradeable power & reliability, but above all, a relatively inexpensive ticket in the door. weigh it out, then have some fun.

Like the previous guy said it will take a considerable amount of money. just to find the custom mounts, axles, wiring from OBD0 to OBD2 and if the car you have now is wired for vtec then thats another thing as well. you'll need a new shift linkage, then all k-series are key coded. so the ecu will not read just any key. The key and ecu will need to be reset. I mean it's a great motor but just expesive for the "customs" parts you'll need. Either way good luck.

It will be hard and expensive, but will be very worth it if you know what your doing!I've seen k20's in 94 and 96 civic hatches too, and they are sick! I talked to the guy that performed the swaps and he said it was a pain.Anyway, good luck!
