if it keeps blowing you could have a wiring problem where something isnt grounded properly and an exposed wire touches metal and causes the fuse to short out and blow. thats what a fuse it for. the fuse blows so it doesnt mess up something bigger when it shorts like that. so you should check the wiring for the tail lights and all other things that go to that fuse make sure everything is grounded out properly on a good spot like the frame then use electrical tape to patch up any exposed copper in the wires n such. thats all i could think that it might be so good luck.

This is very odd as the taillights draw less than 5 amps.Do you have the correct fuse?Did the vehicle suffer damage to the rear possibly effecting the wires?Do you have the correct bulbs installed?

First, check to see that you have the right bulbs and the right fuse. If that is correct, then pull the bulbs out and the associated fuse out. Check from the fuse connection to ground and see if you have any resistance... With the bulb and fuse out it should read maximum resistance as there shouldn't be any connection to ground (chassis). If there is, you have found your problem. The hard part is to isolate the problem to a particular spot so you can fix it.With the fuse out, ignition on, lights on, you should be able to determine which side of the fuse holder carries the hot 12 volts with your voltmeter. When you do the ground check, be sure the car is not running and that you check the other side of the fuse than the hot side to find the ground.Good luck!
