Default Are Acura cars very reliable/good 1st cars?

I am 17 and in March i am going to be able to buy a cheap car..i was looking on craigslist and saw a nice 1991 Acura Legend. So, are older acura's any good? If not can you suggest some cars that are easy to maintain etc.?

The Honda Legend was Honda's 90s lux-car of sorts. Still reliable as ever, just a bit more laid-back than the Integra, Civic or Prelude just to name a few. Great 1st cars though, I'd get that for sure.

Yes, they are very very reliable. Made by Honda, which is number one in reliability. But Acura is a premium brand. Expensive to maintain and insure and fix. Premium gas only. The Legend has a 200HP V6 so gas mileage is not good either.Honda Civic/Acura Integra are great first cars.

these people dont know what the hell they are talking aboutthe legend is one of the most expensive cars to maintain! cheap to buy expensive to maintain It is well worth it though...once you encounter a BHG and fix it you are all set.i suggest an integra sedan for a first car

My first car was a honda civic and it was gorgeous! But I mistreated her, so I learned to really keep up with oil and little things that seem funny before they become BIG things that aren't funny .... I now have an Acura Integra 95. I bought "her" with over 180k miles on it and let me tell you...she has 208k now and still runs like a dream!Acura's are definately a good investment.

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.enacre.net

acura's are hondas. hondas are reliable. it'll last you. but, i wouldnt want to get a legend. for a first car, id rather get an integra or civic. civics and integras are fairly easy to maintain while the legend is not. the legend comes equipped with a v6 while the civic and integras come in inline 4s. v6's are harder to take care of than inline 4s.
