It's a 1800 non v-tec auto and used to rev to red line (7000 RPM). It still runs great and you wouldn't know anything was wrong until you tromp on it. At 6000 RPM it would go nuts trying to rev ( would keep cutting in and out in rapid succession). I did a tune up and change the oil, plugs,wires, rotor, air and fuel filter. Now it will only rev to 5500 RPM. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.Yes that is exactly what I'm saying. I'm thinking it's a weak coil that can't keep up to the shorter spark intervals at high RPM.Eric, what's a long shot is that you might even be able to read a question. "Floor mats" are you kidding me and throttle cable slack do not cause MISSFIRE at 5500 RPM. It doesn't take full throttle to Red line a motor anyhow, so floor mats are flawed logic my friend. Also I know for a fact that a bad igniter or coil can cause the exact same problem I have. I'm just wondering what else it could be before I buy an expensive coil.

I'm sorry, but what do you need help with?? Are you saying you want your redline to be at its old 7k?

Check your throttle cable first.Adjust the slack it may have.Car floor mats limiting pedal movement?Coils? That is a very long shot my friend and flawed logic.
