okay, im in a pretty crappy predicament here: the tranny in my 00-01 Acura 3.2 tl just kicked and i don't know if i should invest money in a used one or what? I am paying the car off thru a loan with about 7 grand left and really what the hell can/should i do? I know the acura has had a history of bad transmissions etc etc. 4,000 for brand new is a lot that i can't afford, but i'd hate to risk installing used. Install a used one and sell it. Next time buy something with a manual.

4000? your talking with wrong shop can get a used one at a auto salvage half that price you need to cal more place to do transmission or shops that do all repair and are you really sure the trans is out that dont happen that much with such a new car

Go to a transmission shop and get them to rebuild it for less than $2000.

See if Honda will foot the bill for you.Google 'honda transmission issues' and you can find some useful links.Buying the car even though you knew about this issue does nto look favorable to you, though...

Get a good tranny manual and repair it yourself for a fraction of the price.Get parts from the nearest tranny shop for a fraction of the price than acura dealer.
