...miles what to do?

Maybe you could have the engine rebuilt and have then deduct the cost from what you will have to pay...find out how much a new engine cost at the dealer also some times when you put a new engine the transmission goes out because of the additional tork load placed on it due to the new engine...these are all things to take into consideration before purchasing.

my accord has 310,000 miles on it and still strong....just get a mechanic to check it over.....it probably good for another 100K miles at least

First of all, it's made by Honda. There, my work is done. It's a Honda. With 180,000 miles on it, it's hardly broken in. That things more innocent than a devout Catholic nun. I have and know people who have Hondas with wayyyy over 100,000 miles. I know someone who has a really old Civic they're trying to kill (put as many miles on it as possible, and maintaining it well, trying to see how long it lasts); it has around like 510,000 miles on it? Take it and have fun with it.REMEMBER: A car is only as good as the maintenance it receives. Before you get it, have it inspected by a Honda/Acura dealer (well worth the money) to make sure. And after you buy it, make sure you do all the things necessary as per the owner's manual.

for an 01 that is alot of miles.. but make sure everything is still in good working other... but then again its a honda the engine are build like gods.. probably run 400k and still run strong...
