depending on your funds hondas top of the line engine now is the k series... but youd have to buy the ecu and the tranny with it. all that would be EXPENSIVE at least $7000 just in parts but youll be 200 HP stock.your best bet would be a GOOD b16 for like $2000 165 HP with a warranty then put $3000 worth of GOOD upgrades to it. Id suggest intake, headers, exhaust, fuel pump and delivery and upgraded ecu and vtec control then youlll be about the same 200 hpdont get an H series or a B18... B18 are more of a comodity engine, there too expensive for what they do.

I couldn't agree more with robert. But I personally had a b18 turbo. Blew it out n had ur same question on my mind. So I went with a B20. But my advice go with the "poormans TYPE-R" B18 bottom end with a B16 head . LsVtec is da way 2 go hands down.
