Default I have a 2000 acura integra gs-r and it doesnt let me go over 5000 rpms?

it seems to pull back when i hit 5000 rpm. but it only does it sometimes not all the time. any ideas of what it might be?its doing this while im driving the caryes the check engine line is on, and also the oil light keeps blinking. I took it to get it checked out but I just had my oil change recently done and I was told it didnt need oil nor was it dirty.

its possible that the v-tec solenoid is sticking and not working sometimes, you can take them off and clean it,it gets gumed up !

In gear or in neutral? When you're not moving, it should be limited to 5k, that's how my TSX is, but if you're driving, you should be able to take it all the way up to redline before hitting fuel cutoff. Is it in all gears or just one?

Sounds like it's in limp mode. Is the check engine light on? It should be if the 5K limiter is activated. there could be a few other things to check too like a clogged cat and how much oil you have.added:since you have oil, you need to pull the code off the ecu. if you have an OBDII scanner use that it you dont then you will need to do this: http://www.team-integra.net/sections...ticleID=34hope that helps you out some more email me with questions you have
