Is it an RSX Type-S or standard? If it is a standard RSX, then the Civic Si and the RSX actually have the same amount of horsepower (160 hp). They are mechanically similar, but the RSX looks better. 100k miles is not too many; I have seen these cars reach 200-250k mi before needing major repairs. If you buy it, make sure to change the oil and filters regularly to avoid engine trouble. Since it's at 100k, it will also probably need a new timing belt.

for $5,000 i would buy the RSX,since the car only have 100k miles;due to the timing chain on the RSX, the vehicle may last to about 300k miles.the base model RSX will beat the civic si.the 2000 stock civic SI is not that fast;it runs 15.6sec at the CMI raceway.

100k is nothing for a rsx or civic si properly maintaned they can both run up to 250-300k no problem...too bad your not getting the rsx type S, id rather get the rsx since its newer... the rsx is an 06 so that means the person selling it drove it 50,000 miles a year thats a lot to put on in one year...

Dude that's a great deal as long as there's nothing wrong with it! I paid 11k for my type-s with 113k miles on it. The SI is more of a race car, but the rsx is a lot more luxurious. But you should def. get the rsx, if nothing else you could turn around and sell it for around 9000.

get the 2000 si. If your going to buy a rsx that is a base model your gonna have only about 160 horse at best and thats it the honda si comes with a b16 and that motor is really capable of some serious put out. the rsx sounds unrealistic at 5,000 so there has to be something up with it but my advice would be get the si drop in new e/h/i just to keep it simple and youll have a very fun ride and youll get good performance gas and reliability out of it.

The price difference is alot my si i bought in 06 for 7000 it got stolen like 4 mths ago i just bought my type s for 15000 sooo... whatever you can afford..they drive EXACTLY the same except for the horsepower... very fun to drive... tight steering... the b16 revs fun and the k20 is insane -- if i could have it my way id have my si back with a k series in it... i love the 00 si shes soo good looking

Wow, $5000.00 for a 2003 with 100k. Buy it. I own a 2005 RSX and I love it. I have owned a '99 civic si coupe as well and it was also great. I have owned 6 Honda products and only honda products. You can't go wrong with either one.

the 99 si has 170 horsepower from the factory. its all in what you want. i have been in and driven both and i would say i like the 99 si better but that is just my preference.
