Default Blueprinting A Motor ?

I drive a 2001 Acura Integra Type-R. I have hear about blueprinting a motor. Now ball parking it, about how much would it cost to have a complete blueprinting done? Is it worth doing if you have the time and money to get it done? What kind of a difference would I see getting this done?

Blue printing is taking all of the parts inside the engine to the edge of the tolerance band that will produce the most power. Usually this accomplished by machining, but sometimes, some parts will have to be replaced. It might give you a 1% increase in power on a Honda engine at most, because the engine is already built to very tight tolerances. As to cost, thousands of dollars, because each part has to be measured. This was popular thing to do with old V8's that were built with rather loose tolerances, but in the past 15 - 20 years, it no longer makes sense.

It would help a little bit, but not much. You would really only need to blueprint your motor if you were planning on boosting it.
