Default Looking to buy an 04 Acura TL. Should I ? ?

I`m 18, i love the model alot ( i don`t like 2nd generation... or the 4th which is too expensive anyway ) the 3rd generation has the best design IMO. However, it`s not gonna be just a give cash get car... i`ll have to get financed. is the car worth the trouble ? I can afford the finance, no problem thereI can afford the loan, but is it worth having it for 4 years ?250/ month. I`m looking to pay no more than 14.5k on the car alone. Registration, plates and everything is separate. No more than 16k out the door. Is it worth it ?

They are reliable, except the automatic transmissions are questionable. If you do get it, get an extended warranty as it will have to be replaced/rebuilt sometime. Or, just get a manual

i have a 2004 TL w/ navi system and absolutely love it. I was considering getting the new 2009 one, but was just not as jazzed about it. You are going to be hard pressed to find a 2004 for under 16,000. The dealer ship near my house in the San Francisco area has the 2004 models going for 18K to 20K right now.

You could have this car for 10 years and you should not have any problems.Acura is most reliable luxury car make. It is made by Honda. The TL is a fun car to drive. Handles well, powerful, practical, luxurious, comfortable, and looks great.Just know it is a luxury car that requires Premium gas.Luxury cars are expensive to maintain, but the Acura is cheaper to maintain than most luxury cars.

I'm 18 and am paying for my acura rsx type-s. Prior to getting it I had wanted one for years. I pay 256 a month for 3 years, which comes out to 11k. It had 113k miles when i got it, but I love my car and have had no problems with it except the trans. If the TL is what you want, and you can afford it, then go for it! Acura's are great cars and very reliable! And I also agree with you that the 04 models look the best. But just like the other guy said, get some type of warranty covering your trans for a while because they have been known to have problems, and even if you get a manual you can still have trouble with it. My rsx is a 6 speed and my 4th gear is so jacked up it aint even funny, but I have no warranty and can't afford a rebuild so I just have to put up with it for now.

Sounds a little high but you don't mention the miles on it or your location. The TL is a great car with some reported automatic transmission problems. If it's still under warranty you are covered.Other than that it should last well beyond your 4 yr goal if you keep it well maintained. This car uses premium gas only...93 octane.Go to the following site for a retail value of the Acura. If it is lower than the owner's price, use the evaluation as a bargaining tool. Kelley Blue Book is a nation-wide reference that used car dealers refer to:http://www.kbb.com/kbb/UsedCars/default.aspx
