A turbocharged, intercooled, 1.8-liter four-cylinder in the 1.8 T produces 180 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 173 pounds-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. The GTI VR6 holds Volkswagen’s narrow-angle 2.8-liter V-6 engine, which generates 200 hp at 6,200 rpm and 195 pounds-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm.The type S has a 2.0 liter, isn't even turbo and it puts out 200 hp, the same as the VR6, the only thing the GTI has more of that the type S doesn't is torque. The k20z1 which is in the 05-06 RSX was rated with more HPFaster? I never answer these questions because there is so much that has to be factored in that it is pointless to acuratly tell you what one is faster. The type S is better overall, just because I hate volkswagen if you boost the Type S, youll own them with ease.

The type-s is def better! GTI's are turbo dependent, which just means that its more to take care of and more that can go wrong. The type-s all motor is just as quick, and turbo cars also have a tendency to get worse gas mileage. I love my type-s, I've never raced a GTI but I have rode in them and I would choose the Acura over the VW any day! Hope this helps.

RSX S is an extremely stiff ride and can get uncomfortable after awhile. People will not want to ride in your car, especially in the back seat (utter torture.) The Volkswagen, on the other hand is much more compliant. If you maintain it correctly, you can enjoy any style of a drive: from a date, or mountain road to stop and go traffic. And besides, Gulfs and Rabbits are like Minis in a sense that you meant to buy it even though there are more expensive choices out there. Don't forget to respect other drivers. They hate being cut off and will pay you back eventually (as I have more than a few times.)

i would say the rsx type s is better.but for speed its close. (stock)and your comparing a naturally aspirated motor to a turbo charged motor.turbo the rsx type s and you will beat it with ease.

well since ive drove both cars, and raced both cars, i would pick the rsx because they are a bit quicker, and have more potential than a gti. an rsx will stay up with a cobalt ss stock for stock, and my friends cobalt ss beat a gti 1.8t by 4 car lengths all stock and the rsx kept up with the cobalt with no problem. so i would get the rsx and get hondata, and youll kill any gti
