Default Integra gsr Mod- Question?

I am planning on getting an Acura Integra gs-r which has 170 horsepower. What are some easy and not so expensive mods I can do to it to make it faster and beat other economy cars Of course besides cold air intake because everyone does that.

an underdrive pulley kit will get you about 6 more ponies.a jet chip is good for about 7-8 hp and will set you back 300.the next step up is breathing. aside from an intake, ditch the intake manifold for a type-r single plane manifold. get a 4-1 header, and a full header-back exhaust with a race cat. all that will be good, with the chip and pulley kit, for about 200 break horse. expect to spend 300 for the manifold, 500 for the exhaust system, and 400 for a header. these are prices for quality parts. don't trust anything less. when you order your chip, they can program it for whatever mods you have done (or are planning) for an even better fit.whatever you do, don't be the kid who puts all the money in spoilers, wheels and body mods. that nonsense gives real tuners a bad name.

i wouldnt waste your money on a chip unless you are going to modify it a whole bunch. Get your self a pulle kit, cat-back exhaust, intake and manifold, headers, cams and chamshafts. if you have the money to go to a machine shop then port and polish the head. you could do that your self if you know how. racing cats are illegal for street use vehicles.

Not true.... people prefer short ram intake! You do know that if you have a cold air intake you can't drive the car in rain or on wet streets right, because it'll just suck in water and fudge your engine up!And if I had a new gsr to work with, the only thing I'd put on is some performance coilover's and drop it... + some nice rims and then leave it! you don't need to put aftermarket parts on, it'll just make your car eat more gas!
