actually 14g is okay, but you should check it for a carfax report incase its had an accident before. A Acura at that stage should be still worth more than $17,000. i dont know...just be very sure of the seller, like he's not hiding anything.

Whenever I negotiate anything (other than a house) I take cash (or a check). Then I pick a really low number (not insultingly low) and I offer that. In your case I might say $11,000 cash. They will tell you they have more than that in it - which is a lie. I wouldnt' go over $12k for this car and I'd be willing to walk out the door. If they know you have cash (or can write a check) they'll call you back and try to work something out.I just know when I have the cash to buy something I'll get it on my terms, if not, I'll just walk away and get something else. Dont' ever fall in love with something so bad that you HAVE to have it. You'll pay more for it if that's the case. But be patient. Let them come to you. And if you don't get the car, just go on to the next 04 TL - there will always be another. Also, get a carfax report on the car. You'll probably be able to see when they got that car. If they;ve had it on the lot more than 45 days, they'll want to move it and you'll get a better deal. I noticed my TL had been on the lot 90 days - I immediately too $2k off the price. when negotiating - I knew they were tired of having that car on their lot.
