on the tranny or near the shifter

on the drivers side of the gear shifter selector towards the top. there is a little tab. you have to pop the tab out to get to the switch.

I am pretty sure that both of those answers are incorrect. The thing that is near the shifter is the shift interlock. The neutral safety switch is made into the brake light switch. That is located under the dash on the arm that come up from the brake pedal.
