...be bad for the car? According to the book, the gears will hold no matter what besides shifting down to first at 6mph. If I am in 5th going 55mph and floor it, will it be bad?

No, it will not hurt anything

I wouldn't do it, but it shouldn't be an issue with the car. If you are going to floor it though, it is better to shift more towards the power peak...

the RDX is equipped with the v-tech turbo boost. its not necessarily bad for the vehicle but just don't keep it at a red-line while driving cause you could bend a valve or blow a gasket. the most that it is going to do is suck up your gas when the turbo kicks in.
