Default 1996 Acura Integra dies

Hello, I have a 1996 Acura Integra that dies periodically. After about 30 or 40 minutes of driving, it will just die. I get no check engine light. After about 15 - 20 minutes, it will start back up and be ok for another 30 or 40 minutes (kind of sucks when you're on the highway). I get no sputter or slow responsivness on acceleration as I would expect would occur if this were fuel related. My initial thought was that the coil was going bad but before I replace the distributor, I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on how to troubleshoot. If this was a bad coil, wouldn't I get an error code and the CEL would come on? Unfortunatley, when this happens, I am typically not in a position to check for spark, etc

Thanks,
Glenn
