i think that with intake it will be the same with any brandbut if you want something popular go with K&N cold air will probably give you more hp then short ram but with cold air you run the risk of sucking up water from a puddle or something

For intakes go with Injen. Great customer service and you get the biggest replacement washer fluid bottle compared with Fujita and AEM. No cons other than the fact that you might have to deal with hydrolock and the installation is a pain but these cons apply to all cold air intakes.Don't get short ram intakes (you lose power on hot days!!) or air boxes (you don't gain any noticeable power). For exhaust go with HKS Hi-Power. It's a decent balance between cost, sound and power. I would recommend GReddy or Buddy Club if you also plan on getting a header. Avoid Blistein and Megan - not enough gains and/or poor customer service. Oh and get the 2.5" exhaust, no more no less.

hey i just got it all done and i got the skunk2 cat back exhaust, with a DC header.with a injen cold air intake this is what my friend recomended for me (he is a licenced acura and civic mechanic)for budget and power. it has provited quite a noteable power gain. the only down fall i can see is the weight from the cat back but the header is lighter than stock and the cold air can suck up water, but all in all worth it..hope this helps

Brand isn't that important on intakes. I use an ebay short ram since it's cheap and works just as good as a more expensive one.For exhaust it's a little more complicated due to the sound deadening in the muffler, makers cheaping out and using aluminized steel instead of stainless, etc. I think the HKS hi power sounded pretty good on an RSX but it's been a while so I may be mistaking it for a skunk2, dc sports, or megan racing catback. Those are all good too.

For intakes there are two main types, a cold air intake (CAI) and a short ram intake (SRI). The CAI provides more power and is less prone to power loss due to heat, but it is slightly more expensive and there is a very remote chance of hydrolock (water getting into the intake and going in the engine, causing it to seize). I have yet to hear anyone have that problem though. For CAIs, the best is probably the Injen (check it out on clubrsx.com, i think it has free shipping too, as well as the largest RSX forum in the world) because I think its a bit easier to install. For exhausts, they all yield minimal gains so go for the one that looks and sounds the best, and is in your price range.
