Default what is faster a k20 engine or a B18C engine?

what is faster a k20 engine or a B18C engine?

depends really on which k20 you are talking about. the k20a can be anywhere from 212-225hp depending on what car you take it out of. but if you got say a k20z2 thats only 155hp. a b18c out of a type r is 200hp. i personally would go with a b18c just because i know more about B series motors so i could do more of the work myself. i like VTEC better than i-VTEC because you can use an Apexi VTEC controller but not with i-VTEC. and B series motors swap into older hondas so much easier. but K series is the new hip thing i guess...again i personally wouldnt want to track down a b18c i would rather get ahold of a b18c1 out of a gsr because they are SOOOOOOO much more common and cheaper or i would go LS VTEC

k20 can be anywhere from 150hp-225hp bro you needa be more specific. it's like saying b18 motor theres b18b and b18c and that also can vary from 140-190hp. the type r b18c5 engine has 190-195hp while the gsr b18c1 has 170-175hp. in terms of drag racing, the k20 (assuming you're talking about the rsx-s engine) is much faster than the gsr or type r. it has the 6 speed tranny while b18's only had 5 speed. HOWEVER k20 being honda/acura's new technology b18 motors are proven a lot better to work with and are more common. its been about 13 or even more years since the first b18 motor came out, thats more than enough time for tuners to actually go through the anatomy of that motor. the b18c5 and c1's though are much more lighter in weight compared to any k20, and integra's reknown for one of the best FWD cars of its time. if you have the money and don't know what the hell you're doing, shoot for an rsx-s. but if you have big ambitions to tune a gsr from bottom up then go for that. but please do some research and some consulting first before you get yourself into this scene, by messing up your car you'll be wasting money trying to fix your errors when you could've just did it the right way the first time (example: intake headers exhaust camshafts then realize you need an ECU then wanting to go force induction then removing everything then buying pistons and injectors then realizing turbochargers are gas guzzlers then going back to all motor then wanting to just go N/A)
