I've received a variety of answers, including from dealers and I'm trying to get a more clear consensus!"D" is the OBVIOUS choice, but NOT an option in my vehicle. The options are D4, D3, 2 or 1.

Put it in "D". That'll work.

DWhy would you put the transmission in any gear other than drive? The transmission is computer controlled. It is smarter than you are. It knows what gear it should be in and when. So just put it in drive and forget about it. The car will do the rest. That is why you buy a car with an automatic.The only time you would use drive 2 or drive 3 would be if you were driving down a mountain and needed to control your speed to prevent overheating your brakes.

in honda and acura D4 is drive then D3 is still drive then 2 and 1 are when you need to get speed fast like when towing a heavy load or you got alot of people in your car and alot of junk in the trunk but if its not that many BIG people in there go with D4. my civic hatchback was the same way P,R,N,D4,D3,2,1. D4 and D3 are both drive but D4 would be the best chioce. DONT shift down when going down a hill shift down when you are struggling to go up a hill. its like putting it in a lower gear allowing you to rev higher and put more power to the wheels. thats why you use it when you have to much weight in the car.

Yes" D" would be the obvious but i believe that make go in D4 cause D1,2 or low gears D 4 would be your over drive

use D4 for everyday normal city driving, im gonna say this one is also better for gas since it shifts at like 3K RPM, D3 is for things like the freeway, it gives you extra braking power. it wont go into 4th gear so it will rev up and sit at 3-4500 RPM depending. use cruise control too.join team-integra.net if you have questions you can email me
