Default Which car is better? In all aspects?

An RSX-S, Integra GS-R, or an Integra Type R? I'm looking for performance, cost, reliability, and how easy and how much it is to modify each car.

RSX-S, better performance. More reliable, since it will be newer. Cost, you can find some nice ones around the 12K price range, modifying, is up to you how much you know and can do yourself and how much you can spend. Also remember. Integras are more vunerable to be stolen.

I'd say the GS-R is the most balanced of the three. However it is true that the cost of insurance thanks to and in addition to the theft rate of an Integra would add to the cost. None of the three are all that easy to modify. VTEC might complicate things too, I do not have any experience with variable valve timing in any form so this might not be true. I believe SAFC and E-Manage both allow you to mess around with VTEC...I think it just changes when it engages but again not sure since I don't have any experience with it.Any car made after 1995 is supposed to be harder to tune since 1996 introduced On Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) which put more sensors in your average car. These sensors are of course tied into the cars engine control module and if you do anything to the engine the values your sensors read will change. For example, if you put in a test pipe in place of your catalytic converter your downstream O2 sensor is going to sense that something is wrong with the engine and try to compensate. Again, don't have any experience with this as my car is a 1994 but I've heard nothing good about the complexity of tuning a car with OBD-II except that an OBD-II code reader will read any error codes in your car's ECU.The way I see it if you want a good Japanese car to tune you need to get a car made from 1990 to 1995. That's when the FD RX-7 was made with twin turbos producing 255hp, thats when the naturally aspirated 300ZX made 222hp and 300hp in turbocharged form, and thats when the Toyota Supra made 320hp turbocharged. Every one of these cars was more than a match for an Integra. All of them came factory turbocharged and could easily be tuned to make more than stock boost. The 300ZX is in my opinion the best deal in a sports car there is. Plenty of them sell for under $10,000 twin turbocharged in fine condition. They are also as reliable as almost any car on the road with a cast iron VG30DE engine (VG30DETT in twin turbo form) that has been known to handle 400hp on stock internals (conservative number, I've heard as high as 500hp. John Paul the best Nissan answerer claims 425hp) and well over 1000hp and possibly over 1500hp with the right internals.

The GS-R is cheapest to buy and modify. The Type S and Type R are equally fast, but the Integra is easier to work on and cheaper to own since it is older.Newer is always better in reliability so the RSX is better. Either way, they will easily last over 200,000 miles.

gsr would be the better one in terms of performance cost reliability and difficulty of tuning the carit has the b18c engine and plus it has well over 10 years worth of aftermarket parts. the type r usually you wanna leave it naturally aspirated since its a type r, you dont wanna mess with the beauty of it. rsx type s sure they're great no doubt but they're a lot harder to tune compared to a 94-95 gsr since the ECU got a lot harder while 94-95 had obd1. the only problems with the gsr is its security as their parts are one of the most sought after in the tuner scene. if you get a gsr make sure you park it inside the garage and keep it DL.
