Default How much would an Acura Integra RWD Conversion cost?

I would like to know how much a conversion would cost. I love integra's, on the flipside, I like RWD cars better. Thus, I want to know, How much a conversion would run me.

This is pretty much impossible. The engine and transmission are designed for FWD cars, and so is the rest of the car. Most aftermarket suspension systems are also designed for fwd for this car. You will not be able to find a rear axle that will fit on the car either. This will also cost thousands of dollars (I'd say atleast 10K). Sorry but this sounds like something that will not be worth the time or the money even if it is possible.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm but what you are trying to do will cost you far more than you think, if you are going to have it done by professionals.Basically, you are talking about removing engine, transmission, suspencion, and everything that connect to them and putting them backwards. Many custom parts needs to be fabricated and floor pans and engine mounts heavily modified. It will cost you far more than what the car sold new. Also, keep in mind, when you are done, the car will no longer be an Integra. It will have no characteristics that made the car what it is. RWD cars are "better" because it was designed so and is an integral part (pun NOT intended) of the car. RWD itself isn't making the car better. There are plenty of poor performing RWDs. Also there are plenty of FWDs that are very good. If you convert FWD into RWD, it will be just that... something that was made to work. This is something you might want to attempt (if you are ambitious, capable, and financially well funded) with your freinds in your garage. Then, you can say you've done this and be proud of the final product.

that would be very very very costly to do. our integra are designed for front wheel drive, the next best thing would be to do a mid engine build: http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...cID=106670join team-integra.net if you do decide to do it the people on there would like to see your project

Well there are 2 ways of doing it. They will both be in the neighborhood of $25,000-$40,000 depending on the shop and fabricator. THe first is to get a Acura motor that has RWD already and find a place to make the custom mounts, make a driveshaft, find a rear-end that will fit under the car, tunnel the center of the car to accept the driveshaft, mess with the nightmare of wiring, put in a totally hand made front suspension set-up, find a creative way to run the exhaust since the driveshaft will now reside in its place, ETC.... Then you can relocate the FWD motor/tranny into the hatch (don't laugh it has been done and was in a recent import magazine) This requires the same/more fabrication as the other way, but allows you to keep your engine. Either way you could go buy a Lancer Evolution, or STI for LESS than this and have MORE POWER, and AWD.

Your arms and legs. Just sell your Integra and get 240SX instead.
