is this a new problem or has it always been like this? i have an 96 integra ls and i used to have problems shifting into reverse sometimes... then i just shift to 5th and go straight down to reverse... i never had any problems with shifting into one of the 5 gears though

check the shift linkage. it might be loose or rusted. check the clutch for slip next.if the linkage and clutch are both fine, it is probably a synchro, which means a new or rebuilt gearbox ($$$) sorry

I don't know about on a manual, but on my 96 automatic Integra I had this problem and it turned out to be the brake light switch. It was like 40 bucks to fix it. I hope that helps!
