My friend has the TL. I think it is a better car than my Audi A4.OIL? do you mean engine oil? As it is not turbo engine, it will take conventional engine oil.Good Luck...

I drive an '06 TL (auto trans version), with ~ 20K So Cal miles. I like the car a lot, and have added various performance mods...think it's part of a 'mid-life crisis' thing, or so my wife says! lolThe factory specs for engine oil is 5W20. I've read a bit about this subject from posts off the ACURAZINE.COM blogs. The 'skinny' is that the factory rates the car with 5W20 because it gives the best fuel economy while giving 'satisfactory' protection. However, better protection is had while using 5W30, but you'll lose a very slight amount of fuel economy. BTW, the folks I know who have this car concur with my experience that straight road, smooth sailing highway driving will get you up to 33 honest MPGs, and mixed traffic driving will yield results somewhere in the low to mid 20s. Personally, I've run Mobil One Synthetic, but any good, rated oil will work. Honda (Acura) makes very robust engines...they'll way outlast the chassis of their cars, and I'm not even complaining about that! Happy car hunting!

id personally say save your self a few gran a go withthe TSX. the TL is the next big step just a lil more luxury that will cost u. thats what did when i got my girl a 06 TSX.the performance is just slighty lower in horsepowerbut that stability and comfort is the same. now 4 oil. it requires regular conventinal oil(10-40)for low milage. i say go with a lil more price but more life and quality 2 the engine with MOBIL1 sae 5-30 fully synthetic.

try going for an '04..... it's pretty much the same and will be cheaper than an '06. Buy from a person. Try 1st owner. My dad likes to use Full Synthetic oil.

I own a 2007 TL. It is a little bit different than the 06, but not much. I do recommend u getting the 06 TL, it has the best value for ur money. If u check other cars of the same class u'll know the TL offers more stander feature than all of them. It is a very nice car and fun to drive, I've had it for 6 months and I love it. It requires premium fuel, but u can use regular for reduced performence and it won't hurt the engine. engine oil it uses the 5W-20.

It's great! Alot of people don't know this, but acura is honda's american car company,so it's economical. aslo it has good re-sale number 3 on the top ten list. They also have cheap up-keep being an american car. But has the relability of a honda! Not the fastest car in its class but does ok.
