if your parents can afford either car, i would call you spoiled and envy their offspring, people like you. but, regarding these two cars, i would have to say that its more of a personal preference. both are very important models to Acura because they sell well and are keeping its image up. each has its own virtues and qualities that differentiate them from one another. though i have to say when comparing the two, i cant help but keep my eye on the TL just because it is such a great value. the TL is a few thousand dollars more than the TSX (reasonably spaced price range), and it is worth every penny. it has slightly larger dimensions than the TSX, comes in a more powerful (like the base engine of 258 hp isnt enough?) Type-S version producing 286 hp as an option, and more standard equipment along with the amazing 3.2-liter VTEC V6 (test drive one and youll know what i mean). considering this, it doesnt do justice that it gets the same fuel economy as the 4-banger TSX (23 MPG overall for both), so you should take advantage of this. the TL is much, MUCH faster off-the-line from 0-60 mph than the slow TSX, and stops a lot quicker from 60-0, too (about 6 feet shorter). your parents may be making the right choice so leave them be. i personally think a comparable Lexus ES/Toyota Camry "comfort-cruiser" sedan looks to be more befitting for old men; all Acuras are known for being sportier drives, as it is with Honda. maybe more so with Nissan/Infiniti (shrug)? good luck to your parents.

One of them is sold as an Accord in Europe (TSX). Also, if they are buying a new car from a dealer, the TL is a much better deal and much more powerful. You can pick up a new TL for a few grand less than the new 2009 TSX is selling for, since the new TL will be out this fall.TL FTW.

TL, an old man's car! not at all, especially the new one(TL 2008). That is more of like a car that a rich bussines man with a suitcase would drive to work with. Its faster, bigger and overall better than the tsx. Acura TL - 286 hp, 3.5 liter VTEC v-6 engineAcura TSX - 201 hp, 2.4 liter I-VTEC engineTl is such a Great Deal! When i had the TL, it was one of the best cars i ever rode on. And nobody yet told me it looked like an old man's car. Ofcourse, if you can afford it, you should cnsider the mdx/rl.

the TSX in my opinion is better for us younger folks. I'm 22 and just bought the 2008 TSX. Test drove 08 & 09 TSX and 08 TL and narrowed it down to the tsx's bought 08 as I saved 6K from the new 09 TSX. Most people seem to feel that the TSX handles more sporty than the TL because its smaller even though it has less power. To me the power is good enough and you get better fuel economy with the smaller TSX. I took it on a road trip 500 miles total this past weekend and got 30 mpg. Once broken in people get 33-35 mpg on the highway. TSX FTW
