you want to stay non-VTEC or go LS/VTEC? if you want to go LS/VTEC get a b16(better air flow) or Type-R head but you will have to have your block redone

we need more info. what do you consider 'built'?all motor? im gonna say the b16 head.. with a very mild port and polish with a good set of cams, maybe toda or skunk2 and of course upgrade your valvetrain with a bigger cam, or just use the ctr/itr cams.if your boosted then just port and polish an ls head with a good cam and valvetrain. you dont need to mess with vtec wwhen boost is involved. its just extra headache in tuning.edit- why dont you want to go vtec? if your not gonna boost it then your pretty much out of options. with a b16 head and a good cam you would probably see a 30hp difference top end. lsvtec isnt hard to do... at all.or you could go with some itb's..

Why the heck wouldn't you want to go vtec? That's pretty much the main reason people swap heads on B18s.
