i say go with the 95 Ls and put a turbo on it.B16 is a good engine. You just have to put some money into it to really make it move because they have crap for torque. Thats why i say Ls turbo or LS/vtec turbo. The Ls block is stronger than the GSR block.

i had a b16a in a teg once, granted it cost me 4000 to get it installed but it work out. theres two kinds of b16's out there b16a (or 1,2,3,4) are in the civic si before they put in the K series as replacements, and b16b which were in the civic type R(not in the U.S.). just a little fun fact but with all seriousness, you can do just as much to a b16 as you would do to a b18b (LS) only difference is VTEC. if you like to run your engine past 8000 rpms sometimes, by all means get the 94 b16, if youre not a fan of VTEC, get the LS. and the LS block are the same as the GSR block, the internals are different thats why alot of tuners today will take a b18b put in internals of a b18c and put a b18c head on it and call it the poormans' GSR
