i thought gsr was only b18. i had a gsr before but it didnt say b17. what kind of ecu do you have? i am currently running a type r. same as a gsr but just the valves are bigger. compression is high on a type r, but totally different from a gsr.

I have a white 92 gsr b17 vtech- japan, I hope you know how rare of a car you have! you can't find too many b17 around. It's a special edition. Hold on to it! . . . .your vin # on the engine should match the cars vin#, if it don't who ever you got it from swapped it on you. but it sound like it's official to me. take a pic of the motor & post it. usually you can tell just by looking at it and driving it.

the integra's are B17, the 94+ are B18B1 for non-VTEC(RS, LS, GS, SE) Motors and a B18C1 for VTEC(GS-R and Type-R) motors, the only way to make sure that its and actual GS-R is to check the VIN on the car and check the block stamp for B18C1 on it. i know its hard to tell since everone does swaps now and you can simply go LS/VTEC now. but check out team-integra.net for more on integra's . you can email me toohttp://www.team-integra.net/sections...p?ArticleID=43

1990-1993 integra gsr had the b17a1, they do rev up to 8300 rpms. 1994-2001 integra gsr had the b18c1 redline of 8000- some models 8500 rpms. you know all there is to know if its a true GSR.
