Im about to purchase a 2003 acura RSX s-type for 14,000. i will be frank, I am a female with little knowledge of cars. I know how to drive one well, but I couldnt tell you much about whats under the hood. My father happens to be a car expert, but he wont be able to come with me tomorrow to check out the car. any advice on what I should look for? Also, the car has a supercharger. I dont really know much about that? He is selling it for basically the exact blue book value, along with some ad ons (nice stereo, some very nice looking rims) does this sound like a good deal?

Supercharger??? These cars are powered by a high power 2.0L 4-cylinder VTEC engine which are tuned with precision from factory for maximum performance and economy. Honda engines can only be modified with non-genuine aftermarket supercharger kits (not approved by Honda) and unless there are engineering cerftificates I would walk away, don't be taken for a ride and buy a lemon.I would find an unmodified example if I were you as they attract less unwanted attention from both police and street racers and will have better resale value. The decision is up top you though

The Type S cars mean that that make of the car looks a little bit sportier, sometimes they have sports shifters and they have more horse power...and he put a supercharger on it?! Weird. If you do buy I'd take it to a Honda/Acura dealership ASAP to get that checked out and make sure he didn't screw anything up by doing that.Honestly, just drive it for a few miles and see how it runs. If you don't see anything wrong with it then go ahead and get it. If you want an 03 TSX or other kind of Acura I would just go into a dealership, better yet...look online for the dealership! The internet department sells cars for barely over MSRP. A lot of dealerships also have costco discounts, which is just barely over MSRP so if you have a costco card, BRING IT WITH YOU!If you are set on buying from a 3rd party, or this 3rd party. Then like I said earlier, just drive it around and see how it runs. If you don't know much about under the hood there isn't much else you can do. Check under where the car is parked, is it leaking any fluids? Does he have service records for the car? When was the last time it had an oil change/check up? etc...

Becuase its a tuned car i would be catious because it could have been raced Get it checked out by a mechanic and ask them about how much more mileage it can take with proper maintenance !!!and thats a very good price if it is tuned up...just make sure its in good condition..
