your smog guy does not look at block stamp numbers.so if you go to get a smog dont offer up that you have swapped the motor to a jdm.paint the block black and paint over the flat stamp pad by the bell housing.visually the motors are the same.leave yout cold air intake at home also.

yes b16 does go good with an ls tranny ... and yes paint the block black
