Default Just bought a 2005 Acura 3.2 TL Sedan, do I really need to use premium gas?

I got a amazing deal on the car, payed less than 9,000 for a vehicle with no damage history 22k miles and every extra option that i can think of. The only thing that I'm wondering about is do i really need to use Premium gas, my mechanic that i took it to before i bought the car said that it was not necessary but it would cause Engine Knocking (I'm not sure how serious that is) if i did not use it. Would it cause the car to not last as long or even cause major problems if it just used unleaded gas rather than premium?

use premium, spark knock can be very serious. You can try using regular but if you start to hear the knocking use the premium. But if you dont no anything about cars than use premium..... good luck

No, not really. My 2003 toyota carolla that I bought in 2004 has run well on regular for the last 4 years, with no problems needing a mechanic's hand. The only reason you might want to use premium is its makes your engine work better and gives you better gas mileage. The difference in price per gallon is evened out by the improved gas mileage.

ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use the recommended fuel for the vehicle......eventually it will break down the cylinders and cause problems. Hope this helps.

Yes. It says premium gas on the gas cap.If it says recommended, then you can use any gas.But the Acura uses a powerful V6 engine makeing over 250HP so it does require premium.

If a Dr said that you should use premium water or die, what would you do ??? do the best for yourself or let it go and die ???If you can't buy preimum gas, you shouldn't have bought the car.Car manufacturers tell you to use a certain gas, because thats what the car is tuned for.Have a thought...

YES! Definitely use premium because regular will cause lower gas mileage and engine problems, especially in the long run.

No you don't need premium. Regular won't hurt your TL. I have an 03 TL Type-S 75,000 miles all on regular gas! MY CAR RUNS GREAT ON REGULAR!!! Your Acura will quickly adjust to the gas you use with no harm to your engine.
