Default Acura Tune Up?

What does a tune-up include? I only have 68k miles on a 1997 Acura 3.0CL but I feel like I've lost some power and my gas mileage is pretty low (15-16 mpg.) Would a tune-up help?

a tune up definetly would not hurt anything. vehicles nowdays (also in '97) only require spark plugs and plug wires. and some new vehicles are not equipped with plug wires. i would change plugs, plug wires, air filter, fuel filter(s) and fuel injection cleaning. inflate tires to proper air pressure.

Tune up is checking the air filter.Checking the oil level and to see if it needs an oil change.Checking the spark plugs to see if you need new ones.Checking the tire pressure. The Acura does have a V6 engine. If you accelerate fast, then that sounds like the right gas mileage. Also, cars lose power over time. You car is 11 years old. Cars usually lose 5-10HP every year from engine wear.A tune up will help with the gas mileage and performance, but it won't be noticeable.

Open the glove compartment. Inside you will find a booklet call the "Owners Manual." There is a section on maintenance. Read it.

Most likely, if your having problems take it to your local acura dealer and have them do a diagnostic check, but most likely you need a major service where they go over everything and explain it to you in detail.
