Default What do you all think about the 05-08 Acura RL ?

i like the front of it, it just looks amazing especially up close, and the back tail lights are pretty cool (similar to the infiniti m class) the tl is pretty sweet but for simply being unique, i like the rl since i never see them on the road

i bought mine a year ago or so. for the most part, quite pleased. one rattle ... seems to be from the sunroof area. when i close the moonroof, seems to diminsh substantially though. city mpg so so ... 15/16. hiway .. very good .. 25+. not sure why the huge variance.

Overpriced. The TL is a much better deal.

The RL is a superb car, and one that is quite underrated. It's got all the goods & then some to make most happy. Most of the 'nay sayers' hype is aimed at the fact that it's not a rocket ship, because it's lacking a V8. BTW, the new '08 sports an engine upgrade from the J35 (@ 290 HP), to the J37 (@ 300 HP). The car has plenty of oomph for most reasonable purposes. Also, it is not inferior to a TL, it's a rather different design. I own a TL, like it, and have never driven an RL, but I'll bet the RL's 'Super Handling All Wheel Drive' handles a whole lot better than my FWD TL. Because the market is populated by a bunch of serious options in the high $40K+ range, the RL's magic is somewhat dulled. Yet if you like the car, know it is a winner...you won't be disappointed! Honda (Acura) did right by this model...I agree, the RL has sharp, classic styling.

Beautiful car, pricey not for lack of content, but simply does not hold its own look wise for the money, when compared to a 5 series BMW, or E Class Mercedes or even a Lexus GS. It needs to be bigger and more distinctively rich. Its about the size of a TL, sure it has more whistles and the SH-AWD but it costs almost twice as much. that said, it s great deal second hand.
