Because most people think stick is cooler. It's not a bad thing to drive auto (it's a lot easier and you can focus on other things), but some people just think it's cooler. It's a great car, no matter what the transmission though.

Some people prefer the involvement of a manual transmission rather than an atuomatic (such as myself). Automatics usually don't perform as well as the same vehicle with a standard, and that image is particularly reinforced in cars with a sporty image, such as your RSX. You'll almost never hear someone express disappointment in a Toyota Camry if it has an auto trans. But the vast majority (about 83%) of new cars are sold with autos, so don't let it get to you.

Some people prefer to be in total control (like with a manual transmission) and this is the kind of car that make them feel good about that. The automatic is more putting yourself in a more passive role and they think this might compromise the driving experience. (This is more fantacy than fact, especially in everyday city traffic) If you are happy with the automatic, their is not a thing wrong with it .

Becuase people who drive acura and hondas think their car is a sports car , in result they think their car needs to be manual when in reality its stupid becuase theres no driving experience involved in a slow non-handeling compact economy car.

nothing really. you have more control with manuals, such as getting to freeway speeds or downshifting to pass people. manuals do suck though when you hit stop and go traffic. ask anyone with a stick when they get stuck in traffic how much it sucks. that's the only time i wish i had an automatic. i did own an accord with an auto tranny [because i didn't know how to drive a standard at the time], and i really had no issues with it. the only issue was the acceleration.

I have an auto RSX as well and i wish it was manual for the control that comes with having it also manual transmissions are more efficient and get more power to the ground.. The type-S comes with a 6 speed manual which is one more gear than the auto which would be nice. I race my car (SCCA sponsored auto cross events) and having to use the Tiptronic shift that the auto has is somewhat annoying but i suppose its better than nothing. Mostly its just for the feel of controlling the car.

testosterone, some dudes will think they are the shit because they drive stick and it makes them sound like hardcore racers, i think its cool the fact your driving the Integras' successor...the RSX. straight to the point, there is nothing wrong with driving auto, you could probably whoop these dudes butts(cant say ass)up and down the street on any given Sunday
