Default 2004 Acura TL gasoline question....?

I am thinking of purchasing a used Acura TL, it is the A-Spec version. First of all, does anyone know if you need to put premium gas in this car? Also if you do need to put in premium and the previous owner(s) did not could the engine be damaged?

Only in exotic sports cars do you HAVE to use premium, its recommended but not 100% needed in your regular everyday cars.

Yes, you do need to use premium. The engine will lose power if you don't. In the longterm, it could affect the engine if the orginal owner always burned regular. Never buy a car from a cheapskate.

The gas cap does say premium gas. I am not sure if it is required or recommended for this car. It says recommended or required on the gas cap too.The engine could be worn out, but not really damaged. When you use the wrong gas, the engine usually starts to make knocking noise. If you try regular, just put a little bit of gas to see what happens. If it makes noise or if it does not perform the right way, switch back to premium right away.

Yes, you need premium. The lower octane fuels will burn inefficiently and effect performance.
