Default rsx vs. rx-8?

its awkward my freind has an rx-8 with 230 hp and i have a rsx 210 hp and my rsx keeps beating it on the street without trying. i'm trying to help my freind to make his car faster yet i cant understand why my lower engine is beating it. I 'm saying it because my freind is going up against an rsx next week an he need to win the race. So can anyone help on how to make the rx-8 better or whats wrong with it?to the guy about the circuit we took it out on hollywood blvd and through all the traffic and small streets the rx-8 had a hard time keeping up on the turns my rsx fish tails without a problems but he turns his best and rx-8 still looses too much speed explain that. and no bull that my freind doesn't drive good.

rsx is a true sports car. it is lighter and can shift at higher rpms... so the best thing you can do it make it lighter get a turbo for it.... and mby a new exhaust?

trust me.mazdas over acuras.acuras are made by honda.hondas are only made to get like 300,000 miles.and 30 something miles to the gallon.dont waste money on rsx's or hondas or these cheap street cars.go for a mazda.i dont favor the rx8 but the rx7 is alot nicer and alot faster.but if u want a sedan sport car thats fast thast what i'd choose.too much people think acuras and hondas are so cool.when they are nothing on a street.

RX8 is not a drag racer. The Rotary motor doesn't make as much torque as piston motors. There are many things he can do to make his car faster, but what he may want to concentrate on is his launch. He might have to hold the rpm a little higher than what he thinks is good so that he can get near peak torque when he drops the clutch.Look at the dyno chart below. He may want to launch at 5k rom.

aparently most people dont know anything about cars. rsx isnt a sports car. just a fast coupe. and an rx8 is not meant to drag race. its meant as a gt car that handles very well. im sure if you were to race a rx8 and a rsx around a grand prix track that the rx8 would win. but there are a few different things you can do to make the rx8 much faster then the rsx. you can get a 3 rotor upgrade kit which gives you more hp and more tq or you can bolt on a turbo. along with exhaust and computer udgrading and tuning. this car can be a very fast car. and just for the record a rx8 can shift higher then the rsx and has a much faster reving smoother engine..... idiot

The RX-8 has 238HP, not 230HP.Your friend is probably a bad driver. You might have faster reflexes. Are they both stick? If the RX-8 is Automatic and the RSX is Stick, then it would make sense. The RX-8 0-60 time is 5.9 seconds. The RSX 0-60 time is 6.7 seconds. If his RX-8 is a manual, then maybe he doesn't know how to drive manual fast and he shifts at the wrong times. To make it faster:-Cold Air Intake-Performance tires-Exhaust System-Performance Chip-Under Drive Pulley

Lots of reasons can explain why you are faster. I can think of 2 driver related issues.- You are better at shifting than he is- He needs to keep the revs high as the rotary engine lacks torque....just like the S.Other than that all I can think of is mods and weight reduction that might affect his time.
