do you know if i can replace the oem intake manifold, and valve spings to type r intake manifold & valve spings?? i ask because i'm not sure about the fitting...and also, if the type r intake manifold & valve springs do fit, do i have to change the valve cover to a type r for fitting?

No. b18c5 and b16 are the only ones that are compatible with a type R intake. The valve springs will fit though.

here is the answer.. yes you can replace the oem manifold but not with the type r one check out www.skunk2.com they have an after market manifold to fit your b18b1, and as for as valve train they do not fit either due to the design of the spring and seat of both the type r and ls model.. but however you can put type r valve trains in just about any b series vtec head dohc out there but not in a b18bwww.skunk2.com www.crower.com www.jgengineering.com
