I need a car.Bad.I'm a single mom with not much money but for $1250 there's a 1991 Acura Legend for sale.This is the listing:http://burlington.craigslist.org/car/561426269.htmlHe said it has 198000 miles on it and only 5 tiny rust spots. He said his daughter and grandkids drove it around. In your opinion, should I buy it? Why or why not? THANKS

in my opinion i don't think you should due to the miles. i think it's not that great of a price with that amount of miles on that car. so i suggest you to not buy it. i bet you can find a better one and for a better price. but that's only in my opinion.

My mother had a 1998 Legend Coupe. Her's ran well but it only had 120,000 miles on it. I wouldn't get it because of it's age. The rust will get worst, and these cars cost a lot of money to have serviced. I would look for a used Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. Make sure you find one with all it's service record history. You can also use car fax to look up it's history. Luxory cars cost to much money to maintain.

If it runs good & idles smooth, it might be OK. Those engines run for 300,000 miles. Check when timing belt was changed, that's a $500 job that you can't ignore. Timing belts are good for 90,000 I think. You could offer him less.

Buy it. 198,000 miles on a Acura is nothing. I would get a mechanic to check it out first.
