how is honda related to acura?

acura is honda's luxury division. Just like lexus is Toyota's lux division: infinity is nissan's luxury division.

The Honda Motor Company, has two brands, the main one is Honda and the luxury cars in North American are branded Acura. Acura is only a brand name for the Honda Motor Company, not anything more.as Japanese cars become more popular in the US as a economy car, Honda feared that no one would pay top dollar for a Luxury Car with Honda written on it, so in North America, Honda came out with Acura. soon after, Toyota with Lexus, and Nissan with Infiniti. Outside of North America, there is no Acura branding, the cars wear Honda branding. it is not quite the same thing as owning a company, as the way VW owns Audi, but it similar.

Honda owns Acura - it (Acura) is the luxury line. I don't know about the new Acura's, but my 01 says Honda on the windshield and all the other glass pieces, also many of the other parts and pieces on the car say Honda. So pretty much, everything on the car is a Honda part.

Well Honda is the "father" of Acura. They're related because they sell "Acura" in North America, and it just has more luxury. Just think of it as an upscale version of Honda. They are both made from the same company, and uses the same engines. For example, the K20 in the Acura RSX (Honda INTEGRA outside North America), is almost the same to the Honda Civic Si's K20.So basicaially, they are made by Honda; same company, uses the same engines, and Acura is just the upscale version sold in North America.
