Subaru WRX. The WRX is much faster and it has AWD. The WRX is also more practical with a bigger trunk and more room for passengers. The WRX also handles much better. Both cars are very reliable, the Acura is more reliable, but not noticeably.

the wrx would definitely be the better pick because of horsepower,suspension..etc....but dont get me wrong the gsr is a great deal if you get the right price.....i own a 95 gsr and i love driving it...if you got money to burn go with the wrx....but in my opinion the gsr is a fun reliable project car

If you want an off-the-line mustang killer, go with the WRX. If you want an efficient high speed touring toy, go with the gsr. The gsr is lighter, and built right, will outhandle the subi in most situations. It will never have the power the wrx is capable of, but it is cheaper to mod, and non turbo cars are, by nature, vastly more reliable.
