It really depends on what you're going for. Obviously sounds like you want a sporty car though. The honda civic is easy to upgrade and the most reliable, and the RSX is pretty much the same car made by the same company with a bigger engine and better weight distribution.I would go with the RX-8 though, those cars are DAMN SEXY. The rotary engine and the 50/50 weight distribution makes it A TON of fun to drive. Make sure you get the manual transmission. The auto is kind of a waste of good engineering with Mazda's shabby torque converter. The only maintainance concern is that the engine sometimes floods when you have higher mileage on it, but that's just the design of the Rensis rotary.

out of the honda and the rsx the Acura is a better vehicle in power and resale value.... the RX8 is on a different playing field since its a real sports car... if you are not used to high maintenance repairs dont buy the RX8 they also have problems with seals but it seems a company has figured out how to get longer life out of the motor

I agree not the best question so let me ask a few more to let us get a better idea of your needs.
1. What is your price range? 2. How much are you willing to spend on car insurance? 3. How much sport performance do you desire? 4. Are you willing to make some mods to your car for performance? 5. How important is gas mileage? 6. How important is resale value? 7. What kind of climate will the vehicle be used in? 8. Is this intended as a family vehicle (people hauler)? The answer to YOUR question depends on the answers to MINE and many more. All of the vehicles you've listed are excellent vehicles in one way or another: The RSK Type S and Civic Si (I'm assuming with the company you listed you mean the Type-s and Si) are essentially the same car, in the least very very similar. The RX8 IS a piece of work however it comes at quite a cost not only monetarily. Less practical (rear drive, cargo, etc.), unconventional engine design, lower gas mileage, worse ride quality, higher insurance rates, lower resale value, higher initial cost, higher operating cost, and more. Personally having owned just about every make of car I can only recommend Honda not only for their superb cars but also their superb dealers. History: '84 Toyota Camry, '86 Chevy Z24, '89 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z (never ever by a Dodge), '90 Honda Accord (owned forever and loved), '88 Nissan Maxima (needed good used second car, it was), '95 Saturn SL1 (JUNK), '92 Geo Tracker (impressive for what it was, just used at cabin), '94 Ford/Mazda Probe GT (great little car for American more Mazda than Ford owned a long time), 2002 SVT Focus (FAST, less Mazda influence a negative), 2008 Honda Civic LX 5spd coupe (my baby gonna be with me forever). Personally going from the high performance SVT to the all around performance Civic I don't feel like I'm missing much performance and gaining very much civility. Sure guys don't line up to race me but guys don't line up to race me. Less attention from the cops a plus and the lower insurance rates (dropped $50 dollars per MONTH with the Civic AND a perfect driving record). Add the number of after market performance parts for us wrench monkeys the Civic it is unrivaled. Maybe I'm getting old... Sorry for the long post but I hope it helps (someone serious).

i'd say the rsx type-s if u could find one cause it has that sweet 4 banger that pumps out 210hp and is pretty sikk styling. you also would not go wrong with the civic si if u could afford one. try not to get a rx-8 even though it mite drive well, in the long run, u'll be paying a lot on keep ups.
