are you sure is the starter? it could be the sylonoid do you hear a "click" from the starter when you try to crank it? if you do then the sylonoid is good but the starter starter is bad. make sure to check all your fuses frist..... to remove it, its some what simple disconnet your battery. locate the starter i sould be right where the transmission and mottor meet. once you find it unplug the wires from the starter. make sure to remembet how they go. usally there 3 bolts around the starter find the right size socket and unbolt. once you've done that remove. you can take it to and auto parts store and they'll check it for you. also you might have to get under the car if the starter is located behind the motor make sure to secure the car right. good luck.

On the Legend the starter is on the drivers side behind the alternator disconnect the negative on the battery jack up the car there are two wires that you need to disconnect one is the + wire for starter power the other is for start form key switch then remove the bolts that hold it on it comes out from the under side
