check the Kelly Blue Book value obviously for the most objective answer to your question. Personally I love my Type-S. I have an 06 RSX type-S which is the face-lifted version. The car rides a little on the stiffer side, but that's also because acura stiffened the chassis for the 05-06 models. The gearbox is great except sometimes mine sometimes tends to refuse to engage 3rd gear if the engine is cold. It's very infrequent, but its a little annoying when it does happen. I mean the gear lever will just bounce out of the gate and then I just have to reshift into 3rd. I've yet to change the transmission fluid, but I think if I were to use something more expensive I think it should cure this "3rd gear wall". Besides that, the 200 horspower of the 2002-2004 models makes the car a fun daily driver. I've pushed 30 miles per gallon on the high way and have squeezed 320-340 miles out of the 13 gallon tank. However, whenever you have the need for speed, its nice to drop a gear of two and let the i-VTEC work its magic...just remember it'll kill your fuel mileage. The car is very responsive to your inputs and is a willing dance partner in the corners but mind you i'm talking about my slightly stiffer version. Lastly, if you're into the modding craze, there is quite an aftermarket for the car to fit your hearts desire. On the downside, the car is a bit loud. Cruising in 6th at about 60 miles an hour has the engine spinning at about 3000 RPM. It's okay for me...but if you like peace and quiet you might not like it. I highly recommend a test drive for you to make that call. Also, INSURANCE IS EXPENSIVE FOR THIS CAR. I think a lot of RSX drivers tend to be higher risk drivers and thus crash them frequently. So insurance companies will ask you for a pretty penny to insure the car. Make sure to check out your rates. I have to pay a pretty high price premium and I have the car registered as a pleasure/weekend car (granted i'm a 21 year old male but still). Lastly, if you like to go to the dealership...know that most dealerships will charge over $100 an hour for ANY LABOR. Unless its under warranty...it's gonna cost you big bucks to do anything such as a 30K or 60K checkup. Also, if you live somewhere cold, i don't think the car had a seat heater option so the cold leather will suck a little when you first get into the car.Overall the car is a really nice find and a great driver. It has its short comings, but if you can overlook them and also drive within the cars limits its great to have. Hope this helps.
