Question weird grinding

i drive a 94 Integra GSR with about 120k miles on it, every so often when i shift into third i hear and feel in my shifter a weird grinding that sounds like i didnt bother to push in the clutch at all. this only happens on third gear and usually when the rpms are above 6k. has anyone experienced this before or anyone know anything about it?

p.s. i have been "experimenting" with shifting without the clutch seeing as how i can take it out of gear without it i figured i can put it in gear the same, got it once without grind, anyways im pretty sure the grind on third was happening before i started this, just to be safe though, can this be the cause? only on third?
