It is among the most reliable cars made, and holds its resale value very well -- assuming of course that previous owner(s) took good care of it.

I have an '05 RSX and it's OK. Love the looks but the ride sucks. The TL is a smooth ride though. From what I know you're fine, and Acura backs their warranty so don't worry!

I work for Honda. Acura is an awesome brand of Honda. You must make sure to keep maintenance up on it and use premium gas only.

Go to http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/ where you can research service bulletins, recalls and complaints for the 04 TL.

My brother has one. I drove it and not impressed. It has a cheap feel and drives like any Honda. I had a Prelude before and gave me such a bad experience that I swore not to buy a Honda / Acura product ever again. I had more tranny / drivetrain / brakes problems that I can count. I bought the OEM parts for it and was really expensive to fix, the dealer was expensive too. My 1st problem on the very 1st week, a motor mount broke...! What a POS !

I currently own an Acura TL. Had it for the past 2 months. I currently plan to sell it when Spring arrives. Although it is a great car, it does not stir my emotions, and that is what I like most about cars.Yes, the TL is quite a reliable car. Never had any problems with it....granted I've only had it for a few months.

Honestly, it's not reliable. The engine will last you a very very long time. The transmission won't. Don't believe me? Go to ANY honda/acura forum on the net and you will see countless threads and polls where people claim they go through as many as 5 transmission before reaching a pity 100k miles. Not something to brag about for a so called luxury car if you ask me. EDIT: I'm a member to 4 acura/honda forums and each one I check has threads about the bad transmissions. if you wan't specific links let me know, it's no problem for me to pull them up.Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad car, but I would never buy it.
