Default my 1997 acura TL. sometimes it won't start unless if you take it out of park and put it back in

park?

Had this problem with a ford. Turned out the steering column was loose, so the neutral safety switch wasn't lining up right. If column is tight, check the safety switch. Could possibly be the shifter linkage needs adjustment also.

It's the starter safety switch that prevents you from starting the car if it's in gear. A mechanic will have to disassembler the steering column and adjust the switch.
