They are simply designators that tell you what type of Integra it is and what optional equipment is included with the particular designator. In order to see which options you would like with the car go to Acura's site and see what the different models are that go with each set of letters. There will be everything from low end to high end listed and you may not wish to have high end...you may be better off with something in the middle that has what you do want and perhaps add on a couple more things.

The info won't be on Acura's site because they don't make the Integra anymore, but I know that RS is the base model, GS is a bit more sporty, LS is more luxurious (all these have a 140HP 1.8L engine), and the GSR is the sportier and higher-end model, with a VTEC engine with about 170HP.

I would think rs means rally sport. ls means luxury sedan. gs means grandma sedan? lol I don't know what gsr means.

Ok, these are all trims on an integra.RS is rally sport, and is the base model, which is the "stripped" model, or the type-R shell. It comes in an auto or manual, and has a B18B1 (USDM) Non-VTEC motor. 142hp @7000RPM.LS is the one step above, and is pretty much the most "preferred". Stands for luxury sport, and has power everything. Has auto and manual, comes with some "LS meshies" if i believe. Comes with the same B18B1 non-VTEC. 142hp non-VTEC @7000.GS is another step above LS, and is pretty much the same as an LS. Stands for grand sport. Only difference is that it has leather and a spoiler. Same B18B1, 142hp NON-VTEC @ 7000.SE stands for special edition. Same as a GS, except it had a rear badge that said special edition. They turned it into a GS. Now the GS-R is probably my favorite teg, aside from the TYPE-R. Now excuse my language, but for all those dumFREAKS out there who posted just to get points...GS-R stands for grand sport racing. GS-R has all the features, EXCPET has an awesome B18C1 (USDM) DOHC VTEC (this basicially means it gives you a boost at high RPMS)(VTEC is the bomb) DOHC VTEC motor, 170hp @ 8000RPM. Also only comes in a 5 speed.Type-R is the highest of the line. Stands for type-racing, and is hellah cool. xD Has a DOHC VTEC B18C5, 195hp @8200RPM. A red stitching and black interior. Awesome? Comes wiht a red valve cover, and has some cool additions like a 5 lug bolt, and an "ITR" spoiler. I hope this helps dude. Oh yea..and...DB7 - Integra 4 door non-VTEC (RS, LS, SE, GS)DB8 - Integra 4 door DOHC VTEC (GS-R)DC4 - Integra 2 door non-VTEC (RS, LS, SE, GS)DC2 - Integra 2 door DOHC VTEC (GS-R & Type-R)---DC5 - Integra 2 door DOHC VTEC K20A2. (Known as the Integra Type-R DC5 in japan, or an acura RSX-S here)
