I've heard of this transmission having lots of trouble and now my sons car is. It won't go into second gear at all. Does anybody know the cause of this or a solution to the prblem?Thanks for the newsflash cam. Does anybody have a more in depth answer than "its the tranny"?

is it a standard shift or automatic. First check the fluid levels in the transmission. make sure it is clean and at the appropriate level. If it is standard shift, look underneath and make sure the shift lever is not hanging on anything. Just a few tips off the top of my head

its the tranny. you have to replace the tranny. i'm assuming he races because that happens alot when you over abuse your clutch. ask your son that queston. does he race or not?

Im going to say that if it wont go into second then the grooves on the clutch that connect the tranny to the engine power shaft have been worn down to where they don't catch anymore. If the car still goes into first third fourth and fifth then that is your problem and the clutch will need to be replaced.

this question is answered at least once a week... 2003-2006 RSX's have a 2nd gear problem...it's covered in the Acura re-calls. Do yourself and your son a favor and talk to Acura about it..

RSX's have a problem with gear syncros. Go to http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/ where you can research service bulletins, recalls and complaints to see if you have a remedy.
